Cutting calories: a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine in February compared four different types of diets with one thing in common: all were 750 fewer calories than a normal diet. Whatever kind of diet to follow, participants who completed the study had lost an average of about 4kg after two years. The results provide convincing evidence that weight loss is closely related to calorie restriction in opposition to the type of diet.
Knowing our weaknesses: Mastering the calorie count is not as easy as it sounds. Efforts to eat less and it is often affected by several factors, including genetics, the pressure of advertising, finance and time. The trick is to find out what factors disrupting our diet and learn to fight against this dynamic.
